Dear teachers, students, employees, and friends here at FIEC.

In the year 2005, we obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certification, all thanks to the joint, responsible, and synchronized commitment of the members of this faculty, students, employees and teachers. We are currently in the process of obtaining the ISO 9001:2008 re-certifications, which is why we should all feel satisfied with the goals that we have accomplished. This allows us to keep looking for new and better objectives. In order to achieve excellence, we should keep up the same enthusiasm and the same commitment that have allowed us to reach our goals.

Our certification is an active part of the quality system, which is why we must keep it; that means we must meet all the obligations we’ve acquired in the POA 2012; respect and improve the processes and the time limit for the timelines, so that in the end of each period we obtain satisfying results. All of this leads us to obtain the satisfaction of our constituent members, that is, our students, regulation and control organisms and society in general.

With the coming of 2013, our challenge is to acquire obligations that are significant to the academic and administrative life of our faculty and of ESPOL itself. These obligations must influence improvement for the country. To achieve these obligations depends mainly in the great strengths of our faculty when it comes to teaching, investigation, and administration.

One of these challenges, one of particular importance, is to contribute to the process of international accreditation ABET. To meet this great goal, it is of utmost importance that we all commit into getting our career programs to be recognized on an international level, for their academic excellence, the transcendence of investigations, the quality of the administration management and the relevance of the faculty’s outreach towards the development of Ecuador.

To facilitate the workload of establishing and maintaining the quality system, Lenin Freire, Eng. has been designated as the faculty’s quality coordinator.
